Electricity Cost Calculator

Appliances running cost calculator.

Understanding Consumption

Electricity is billed in lowatt-hours (kWh). One kWh equals using a 1000-watt appliance for one hour. For example, a 100-watt bulb running for 10 hours consumes 1 kWh.

Typical Appliance Ratings

  • Ceiling Fan: 50 - 75 Watts
  • LED Bulb: 7 - 12 Watts
  • Refrigerator: 100 - 250 Watts (running cyclically)
  • Air Conditioner (1.5 Ton): 1500 - 2000 Watts
  • Water Heater (Geyser): 2000 - 3000 Watts

How to Save

Switching to 5-star rated appliances and LED lighting can significantly reduce your monthly bill. Unplug devices (like chargers/TVs) when not in use to avoid "phantom" power draw.
