Tile Calculator
Calculate tiles needed for floor/wall.
Why Add Waste?
You should always purchase 10-15% extra tile than your calculated area. This accounts for:
- Cuts: Tiles at the edges of the room usually need to be cut.
- Breakage: Some tiles may crack during shipping or installation.
- Future Repairs: Having a few spare tiles from the same batch is a lifesaver if a tile cracks years later.
Tile Patterns
Straight Lay: The standard grid pattern. Requires the least amount of extra tile (add 10% waste).
Diagonal Lay: Tiles are set at a 45-degree angle. This looks elegant but requires more cutting and waste (add 15-20% waste).
