What is WPM?
WPM stands for "Words Per Minute." It is the standard measurement for typing speed. The average person types around 40 WPM, while professional typists can exceed 70-80 WPM.
How is it Calculated?
The standard formula assumes, on average, a "word" is 5 characters long (including spaces).
WPM = (Total Characters Typed / 5) / Time (min)
